Koi Carp Goldfish Brooch Pin Ceramic Porcelain Enamel Handmade Figural
Hand Painted Glaze
Marbled White and Orange Color
Wearable Art
One of a Kind OOAK
Artisan Signed LZ 03

This is a lovely highly detailed orange and white Koi fish brooch or pin. It is done in colors of white, orange and black with a gold trim around the edges. It has a luster glaze that makes it seem almost wet. The textured body has scales, fins, and gills that give it a life-like appearance. Koi fish are ornamental varieties of Carp and are often kept in outdoor water ponds throughout Japan.  The Koi fish is thought to be a symbol of love and friendship in Japan. It is signed on the back with the artist’s initials LZ and the number 03 (possibly for 2003).  It measures approximately 2 ½ inches long and 1 inch tall.

It is in excellent pre-owned condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. It doesn’t look as if it was ever worn. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe.

This is a perfect gift for any Koi lover, a collector of figural fish jewelry or someone who has a fish pond of their own or is a hobbyist with a passion for the “Nishikigoi”. It will look great on a sweater or blouse with your favorite pair of jeans. It is a wearable piece of artwork that is sure to bring compliments.
