I am offering the vintage 1986 Greek Greece Democritus 10 Drachmas copper nickel coin # 164.

Democritus (460 - 370 BC) was a Greek philosopher, who developed the atomic theory of the universe, which had been originated by his mentor, the philosopher Leucippus. Democritus was born in Abdera, Thrace. He wrote extensively, but only fragments of his works remain.

OBVERSE: Atom with three electrons orbiting, EΛΛHNIKH ΔHMOKPATIA (Democratic Republic of Greece), around 10 ΔPAXMAI (DRACHMAI) date.

REVERSE: Bearded head of Demokritos left, ΔHMOKPITOΣ.
Edge: Smooth.

Measurement: 26 mm.
Weight: 7.5 grams.
