PING is a family-owned manufacturer that produces clubs, bags and other gear for the sport of golf. Karsten Solheim founded the company in 1959 when he wanted to design a golf putter that made a “pinging” sound when striking a golf ball (hence the name PING). Even though the company has been around barely 50 years, its putters may be extremely valuable depending on their model and type.

Ping Anser 2 Putter 1973 - 2000

The PING Classic Series Putters feature classic shapes and timeless designs that have proven to be tour-worthy, as evidenced by the amount professionals who've brandished them on their way to victory. The Anser 2 is a traditional, heel-toe weighted blade, and with a moderate amount of toe hang, best suits players with a slight arc in their putting stroke.

Review: "The Ping Anser 2 sets up wonderfully behind the golf ball. You don't have to worry about the putter turning in our out at address, it set's up square each time you set it down. The plumbers neck and sight line make it extremely easy to line the putter up right on the ball as well as to the sweet spot of the putter. I've also putted with the Ping Anser and found that I would at times be putting the ball towards the heel of the putter without knowing it. With the sight line on the Anser 2 that isn't a problem."
