Okra Emerald Green Velvet
Latin Name: Abelmoschus esculentus

Okra is an extremely versatile vegetable of Middle Eastern origin. They are best known for their delicate flavors, which, like meat, can be made deliciously in stews, soups or pickled as vegetables. (Remember to always harvest young fruits younger than 6 days). In addition, the leaves, flower buds and even ripe seeds of the plant can be consumed.
Remember, okra is placed in loose soil, put in place (potted cultivation, transplanting is poorly tolerated) when the soil temperature exceeds 15 degrees Celsius.
The Emerald Velvet okra is an American-bred variety that has been popular since the 1950s and dazzles gardeners with its prolonged fruitiness and high yields.
