About the item:

From the 1998 Marvel: The Silver Age trading card set released by SkyBox, this trading card is signed by hand by acclaimed Marvel artist/inker Joe Sinnott.  It is in near mint/mint condition and will be shipped with the utmost care. Please note- the signature is real. It is the actual, hand-signed signature of Sinnott. It is not a pre-printed image on the card.

About the artist:

Best known for his long work on The Fantastic Four (from 1965 until 1981 and with a brief return in the late 1980’s) artist and inker Joe Sinnott (1926 – 2020) was one of Marvel’s most in-demand inkers. Of Sinnott, Stan Lee once said that “to most pencilers, having Joe Sinnott ink their artwork was tantamount to grabbing the brass ring.”

Present at key points during the Silver Age, some of Sinnott’s career highlights include his work on The Fantastic Four, including the landmark FF issues' introducing Dr, Doom, Galactus and the Silver Surfer (he later went on to work in the Surfer’s own title) as well as his work on Thor, the Avengers, Captain America and, during the 1980’s, the FF spinoff series, The Thing.

Though primarily an inker, Sinnott’s pencil work is no less impressive. He won two Alley Awards and an Inkpot Award. In 2008, Sinnott was both the recipient and the namesake of the Inkwell Awards Hall of Fame Award, the Joe Sinnott Award.

~Certificate of Authenticity/Provenance:

Excepting pack-pulled autograph trading cards, CGC Signature Series, signed Sideshow prints, and like collectibles, all autographed items Vault Collectibles sells were personally witnessed, by myself, being signed by the writer, artist, or celebrity in question.  No third party is involved.  Further, art sketches - and most published original art I sell - were obtained directly from the artist themselves.
