We are in love
with this lush Palmetto Leaf stencil! If you’re crazy for the new
Tropical trend, this is a perfect stencil to paint as a pattern on your
accent wall, curtains or furniture. This palm leaf design looks
fantastic stenciled in deep tropical greens over off-white and paired
with some gold and black accents. Or, you can get creative and
experiment with your own color combinations, placements and overlapping
the designs.
The palm leaf stencil is designed for a free form placement and has no registration marks. If you want to standardize your wall pattern, make sure to layout and mark your walls with small pieces of tape or chalk, and use our Clip-on Stencil Level (available in our eBay Store) to keep the designs vertical. We recommend using stencil spray adhesive with this palm leaf design to achieve a crisp look. SIZE/DETAILS Single overlay stencil.
Sheet: 24.5"x28.2", Design: 21.5"x24.2" Be creative: overlap the design, use different colors, create your own allover stencil pattern, add shading, use metallic paint - possibilities are endless. Stenciling on rough or textured walls may contribute to increased paint bleed. In general, it's possible to stencil over textured surfaces, however it depends on the roughness of your texture and your desired outcome. Some textures out there are really rough, with huge "peaks and valleys" and if this is your case I would say that stenciling may not be an option. However, there are light to medium textures out there that are very suitable for stenciling. We have done many faux frescoes for customers with our stencils and this technique actually requires applying a textured plaster background first and then stenciling on top of it. Of course organic stencil designs such as leaves and branches are more forgiving than a designs that have straight lines and perfect edges. For more information on stenciling on textured walls, see the F.A.Q. section on our website.
About seepage and imperfections: Even with a proper loaded roller and correct technique you might get some minor paint seepage here and there. In most cases it’s not noticeable, especially from a couple of feet away and it can be easily touched up with a small brush. Don’t forget that you’re creating a “hand-painted wall finish”. A few imperfections and some paint seepage here and there are natural and inevitable for this type of work. To avoid seepage, use spray adhesive and less paint on your roller and brush.
