This perfect condition vintage long sleeve checker board and flower Maxi Dress is straight the 1970's. A wonderfully mod pattern in black, blue, green, and orange. A super cool Boho Chic find. A pristine womens clothing item from **Ellen Kate's Closet. "Retired" to the closet in her smoke-free home.

Designer Label: Thalhimers French Salon
by Eleanor Brenner, Brenner Couture
No size tag because handmade, approximately a size 2 - 5 US.
Top notch and perfect.
Beautifully tailored.

The Thalhimers French Salon was a swank shop where you would have coffee, be fitted for a dress, and it was handmade for you. One of a kind creations!

There is no fabric label but by feel, it is a cotton poly, like a light sweat shirt material. The interior collar area is lined in black. There are no defects and the color is vibrant as if it was right off the store rack. No rips, stains, or color loss. Ellen Kate most likely wore it once!

Great row of buttons on the front, High neck, v-neck cut (the buttons do not go up around the neck). Great wide belt with same matching series of round covered black buttons. Zipper back. Some flair to the bottom.

This dress would turn heads at that next party. Funkilicious.

Measurements with garment laying flat:
Length: 56"
Shoulders: 14.5"
Bust: 16.5"
Waist: 14"
Hips - expands: max 17"
I would recommend dry cleaning to preserve the bright colors.

**Ellen Kate's Closet - Born in 1918, Ellen Kate was a very fashionable woman who was involved with many Ladies and Professional Business Clubs during her lifetime. She even ran for Town Council in the 1950's when no other woman had ever served on council (and lost probably because she was a woman). She lived a busy vibrant life raising 3 young children on her own after her husband passed away early in their marriage. She was always interested in politics, an avid swimmer, healthy eater, and party goer. Her closets contain wonderful vintage fashions from the 40s through the 90s. Hundreds of shoes, hats, gowns, and gloves worn to business functions or weekend parties. A history of Newspaper clippings show off her many fashions, no outfit ever the same. Most of her items were worn very few times so condition of her items is very nice. All hats are in original boxes as are the majority of her shoes.
