Tulips in Bloom began with the purchase of a small pot of tulips in early March, while winter was still very much here, but when we longed for spring. A textured brown made a good background, and a soft flannel in green made pretty leaves. It was completed just about the time that the tulips outside began to open.

My artwork is mounted on foam core, which creates a light-weight but rigid piece with a wire for hanging and  a felt backing. It is treated with a sun-block spray, although prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may eventually cause fading.
