Colorful Chaos emerged from a challenge to create a piece that gives a sense of motion, using embellishment to help.  I started off by going wild with the shape, then machine appliquéing a couple pieces with plenty of motion of their own. Then I dove into my stash of ribbons and trim, and twisted them around; they got sewn in with beads. This became the wildest piece I had ever made to that date and the first totally abstract one! And, Colorful Chaos won a 2nd prize in the Framingham Artists Guild art show the following spring.

Size: 25" x 21"

My artwork is mounted on foam core, which creates a light-weight but rigid piece with a wire for hanging and  a felt backing. It is treated with a sun-block spray, although prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may eventually cause fading.
