It may have been the grey sky flecked with silvery stars that started Moon Garden, along with the black-on-black that became the background. I used other black/white/gray fabrics for flowers and foliage, plus a couple muted greens, and then tinted some of the stark white flowers and leaves with green ink. And then it called for beads, which ended up bordering most of the shapes, at least on the upper edges, chosen in gradated colors, brighter as they came closer to the moon, which is made of Angelina® fiber.

Size: 16½" x 20"

My artwork is mounted on foam core, which creates a light-weight but rigid piece with a wire for hanging and  a felt backing.  It is treated with a sun-block spray, although prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may eventually cause fading.
