Item description for Vintage Western Germany Necklace Earring Set Faceted Plastic Gray Box

This is a stunning faceted plastic necklace and earring set made in Western Germany. The set is in the original box with the red metallic manufacturers tag/label still attached to the necklace. The red and gold crown shaped label reads “Lona (back to back and reversed logo) Lifetime Finish Feather Weight” and on the other side “Permanently Anodized against Peeling, Climate, Perspiration, Sea Water”. The colors are two shades of grey. A dark and a light gray in kite shaped sections that complement each other.

The necklace measures approximately 14 inches long with a 5 ¼ inch opening where the necklace hangs down. When on the neck it forms a circle around the neck. The extension small round beads sections are 5 inches on one side and 3 inches on the other side. The necklace does not stretch out straight (see pic with hook and quarter for how the necklace lays flat) and is a choker style necklace. It is adjustable using the hook clasp and the round beads. It is approximately 1 inch wide. The hook on the necklace has “Western Germany” signed. The back of the clip on earrings are also signed “Western Germany” and measure approximately 1 ¼ inches wide and tall.

This set is in excellent vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. It looks as though it was never worn and has the original label still attached. There is some slight discoloration of the gold tone backing on the earrings, normal for the age (no verdigris). The box has a few stains on it, but all is intact including the satin lining where the jewelry is attached. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe.

This would be perfect for anyone who collects and wears vintage costume jewelry. Jewelry made in Western Germany is becoming harder to find, especially matched sets with the original tag and box.
