Item description for Vintage Chinese Imperial Dragon Serpent Brooch Pin Silver Figural

This is a very detailed, ornate and highly textured vintage casting of a clawed Dragon. It is an Imperial Chinese Dragon complete with scales. It looks just like the dragons you see in the New Year’s parade. The brooch measures approximately 2 ¼ inches in length and 7/8 of an inch tall at the widest point. It is unmarked and has not been tested, but I was told it is sterling silver. It weighs .50 ounces on my postage scale, which converts to 14.17. According to Wikipedia, the dragon “is a symbol of power, strength, and good luck for people who are worthy of it in East Asian Culture”.

This brooch is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. I have not polished it as many people prefer the patina that only comes with age. Depending on your own taste, I will leave any polishing up to you; you can keep it in the same condition with its original patina or polish it. The roll over clasp closure works fine and is secure. This would be perfect for anyone who loves Dragons. It will look great on anything you choose to wear it on, a dress, jacket lapel, or as a scarf pin. It can be worn for a dressy evening out or a casual day of shopping. If you were born in the Year of the Dragon, this would be a great wearable piece of art for you to have.
