I thought to revisit the satin with batting technique that I used in the Satin Flower, but with different colors of satin. The background is light blue and white satin sewn with waves, then layered with batting. Thread-painting, with some of the fancy stitches from my sewing machine, holds it together, adding seaweed and more wave motion. The fish are little pillow-like pieces, with Angelina® fiber tacked on for fins and tails. The printed-on-fabric treasure chest and castle were the final touch to fill in those spaces. They changed it from my original idea of an ocean scene to an aquarium.

My artwork is mounted on foam core, which creates a light-weight but rigid piece with a wire for hanging and  a felt backing. It is treated with a sun-block spray, although prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may eventually cause fading.
