This is an exotic seashell handmade artisan necklace. It is uniquely designed using beautiful creamy off-white Mother of Pearl shell sticks called Frangia. Frangia are stunning freeform coral like branches in different shapes and sizes. These come from the hard internal layer of the sea mollusk that produces pearls. The shell has a gorgeous iridescence to it, which adds dimension and texture to the necklace. There are two large seashells, one on each side of the strand. The largest is a sliced Spider Conch or Lambis Shell trimmed in 24k gold, it is approximately 4 ½  inches long and 3 inches wide. It has a wonderful shape to it with striking curves and various colors. The other smaller shell on the opposite side is about 1 ¼  inches in diameter. The Frangia shells vary in size and are 1 inch to 1 ½ inches. The necklace measures close to 31 inches from end to end. Although it is unsigned, it is obviously designer quality.

This elegant necklace is in excellent condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. The shells have a lovely glimmer to them. Each of the shell pieces has been hand drilled and strung on strong heavy duty nylon or mono-filament. The shells are interspersed with little black round beads in a few strategic places and there are two on the large shell where the nylon is tied off. I have taken pictures of the back of the large shell as well as the front so you can see the details of the entire shell. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe. There are spikes that come off the side of the large shell on the edge that are trimmed in gold. Some of these are short and some are long, they are not broken off because the gold trim covers all of the spike. I believe it was intentional made this way from the actual shell. There is some slight variation of color on the gold trim in one spot, but you don't notice it without magnification. This is a substantial piece of jewelry and weighs 5.8 ounces on my postage scale, which converts to 164.43 grams.

If you love chunky jewelry you will adore this necklace, it is a big piece that makes a real statement. This would be perfect with that little black dress or with your favorite pair of jeans. It will certainly turn heads, it is an eye catching piece that commands attention with the luminous shells. It is a great versatile look for a summertime beach party, wedding or cruise. This is wearable, one of a kind art.
