This is an unusual and rare vintage wooden carved miniature coffin. This wooden carved casket or coffin has the remains of a crude wood skeleton inside. The coffin cover or lid rotates to the side to reveal the risque skeleton. The skeleton has a personal part that you can raise up. At one time a rubber band made it pop up, but now it requires a little assistance. If you wanted to display this as just a normal skeleton, you don't have to open the coffin lid all the way. The coffin measures approximately 5 inches long and two inches deep. It has SICILY engraved on the lid. There is one like this listed in Worthpoint and it shows that it sold in 2012 for $160.00 with 9 bids. It was listed as being created by a soldier during World War II and was considered Tramp or Trench Art. That one had the date of 1945 carved below Sicily, this one is not dated, but it is almost identical and probably made at the same time by the same person.

This is a great piece for any old haunted mansion dollhouse, just in time for Halloween. It would be a real conversation piece at your next party. It would also be an excellent addition to any collection of erotic folk art.
