Because of the width of the pin it tends to rock a bit move on the rivet. Pin assembly is stable, it just wasn't a good design for this brooch. Due to the unique hand painted finish there are some bubbles in the enamel. This isn't wear damage but popped enamel bubbles from the hand painting process.
