Two exciting new features are now online, I wanted to take a brief moment to alert all to their existence, and how they might be useful to you.
Gift Guides
With the holiday season now here, the perenially challenging question is once again upon us: what do I get for Joe Bob when all I know is that he likes the outdoors? What are some quirky gifts for grandma? What is cool for under $10?
Gift guides allow our community to answer these difficult questions for you. Browse by personality type, price level, and a smattering of other classifications. As it continues to get used, I suspect that gift guides will become the most efficient way to shop when you have a particular occasion coming up. After the guides get built out over the next few days, we'll be adding a link to them directly from the home page, so this will be a high exposure affair.
If you're a seller, a list builder, or a person that just likes browsing, why not consider making a gift guide yourself? It's as easy as creating any other hand picked list (My Bonanzle -> Buying Activity -> Hand picked items). The only difference is that when you are setting up your hand picked list, you choose the gift guide category (or categories) that your list fits into. Once your list has enough items, it will be automatically added to our index of gift guides. Sales and fame ensue. Why not give it a shot? I did!
Price Markdowns
Price markdowns are a new promotional tool available for our premiere members that are described in detail here. The gist is that you can setup sales that last for longer than the three hours a Bonanza affords -- in total you can have sales lasting up to seven days per month. While your items are on sale, buyers will be able to see that they are getting a special deal by the price being visibly reduced: from your booth, when looking at the item, and even from on-site search results.

I am looking forward to using the Mark Down Manager right after Thanksgiving…I think it is a great feature and very much needed, especially at this time of the year!

Just figured it out. Go to your HP list and click edit. The categories for the guide are below.
I am going to work on my hand pick list and then use the gift guide price markdown management.

We need some categories for the list for collectibles such as antique collectors, stamp collectors, bibliophiles, etc.

I love this feature and wish that the 7 day limit was on a per item basis. Maybe it is? I’m not sure but can someone let me know? I seem to have used up my allotted 7 days :(

Just saw the notice for the markdowns and gift guide. I just joined 3 days ago and have over 225 items in my booth. I have been marking down items because I am saving money in fees so I am passing that savings to customers. I was just thinking how easy it would be to have a markdown in the booth for all items or a few selected items.
I was also wondering how long does my listings stay active? Is there a time limit? I didn’t read that anywhere.
I have used the optimizer, widgets, twitter and facebook modules. Thank you Bonanzle for that.

I have been marking items when I browse other stores such as cool! etc. I like that feature. I would like to see a place to see a list for everyone’s COOL items etc. also. That would be nice to view – to see what everyone else thinks are good priced items, weird or whatever. I would also like to see a list of items that I marked on other people’s stores so other people could see what I think are cool features, good priced items, weird or whatever too.
That would be fun to see what other people have marked as interesting items – actually that is a good marketing tool.
This site is very user friendly and the owners of Bonanzle really listen to their customers which is a pleasant change. I haven’t made a sale yet, but I know I will because of the google optimization tools on this site which are great !

Interesting that Rob Kalin, founder of Etsy, is coming back as CEO and is doing away with the Gift Guides there. It would be interesting to see an in-depth analysis of just why he is moving in that direction.
