Buyer trying to use a bonanza welcome code for 40% off?

I have Bonanza Promotions checked and so far it has worked fine. Buyers have used Bonanza promo codes in my shop with no problem. The codes are usually for around $25 which come off of my final value fees. No problem.
Today I receive a message from a lady that has received a 40% off welcome code from Bonanza and wants to use it on a doll that I am selling. The doll is selling for $699.99 plus shipping. Using this code would make the amount I would receive way less than the fees that I would owe on the sale.
How would this work out? My fees wouldn’t be anywhere near 40% of the doll. I am hoping someone knows how this works. Thank you in advance for any help.

I think that the buyer that is trying to use the 40% off coupon may have gone to one of those free coupons sites and saw a coupon that a SPECIFIC Bonanza seller posted online. The “buyer” thinks that the coupon applies to every Bonanza transaction, when in reality it only applies to items purchased from that particular seller who posted the coupon.

I found such a thing when researching…. The text below is copied from one of the coupons that I found at retailmenot.com and clicking on it sent me to a specific Bonanza booth (notice it said THIS booth).

“Your coupon for this booth is now activated. You’ll see it as a discount in your cart when you check out.”

Wen Bonanza puts offers a buyer a discount on YOUR items (there is such a program that sellers can opt into), they will discount the seller fees that you are charged to make up for the difference in the sale price. Bonanza certainly didn’t offer a 40% off coupon code to be used at any booth on Bonanza. Even if they did, they would have limited the dollar amount. For example, 40% off on items less than $10. After all, Bonanza does not want to give away their own money or cause you to have to accept a lower price (especially almost $300).

In summary, I think that a random Bonanza seller posted his/her own “Welcome” code for buyers to use in their booth. And, I would guess that they didn’t have $700 items for sale either. Of course, you are under NO obligation to accept the coupon code.

I would ask Bonanza directly before accepting the purchase. That is not fair that they would give away such a tremendous discount, without considering the sellers position.

As You said, it’s usually less (up to 20%):

But maybe the Buyer is trying to use this kind of 40% [URL removed]

If yes, You still will/should be charged by B-Z only up to Your advertising level %.

If You don’t feel comfortable to proceed with this transaction (btw, this particular coupon on the photo above is still not verified), try to confirm it with the B. support (ask for a quick answer in order not to loose this sale).
