Csv import - extremely slow....

I’ve been using the CSV Import since opening our Shop here on Friday and the biggest problem we’re finding with the Site, and the thing that’s holding us back the most, is the unusually long time it takes for the system to process CSV Files.

Like many, having used CSV functionality across most of the larger marketplaces for many years, I find that I’m able work quickly and efficiently by using CSV files which can process (in most cases) within a matter of minutes. Unfortunately here at Bonanza, even a relatively small file can take numerous hours to process and this is most troublesome, especially for larger sellers who ultimately rely on CSV to manage large inventories.

The help files mention splitting up large inventories into multiple files, which we’ve done (about 500 per file) but we’re still seeing processing times in excess of 6-7hrs.

We’re certainly interested in selling on Bonanza, but it’s going to be problematic for sure without an efficient system for processing CSV files.

Equally, we’re also finding that a simple “batch edit” to delete about 500 products takes just as long. The problem is that the system appears to be unresponsive and doesn’t provide us within any information as to what it actually happening.

All we have is…

“Currently processing your batch update request. You may refresh this page at any time to check if your request is complete.”

… this is about 3hrs ago and no products have been deleted yet. I guess we must be in some kind of “queue” or something but there’s no indication of where we are in such “queue” or long this might take.

The problem is that we can’t (or don’t feel comfortable) making any further changes or importing any files until the current task has been completed and with little indication of what’s actually going on we might as well give up today and come back tomorrow to see if it’s finished.

I’m currently on hour #7 waiting for 101 items to upload. I fully agree that this is a MAJOR system critical hinderance to large sellers. If I bring my product catalog to Bonanza it’s thousands of SKUs and this can not be the case if they plan on being a viable sales channel.

Has anyone experienced issues utilizing the API? Are similar delays noticed?
