How are your sales going?

I’ve been really slow. It’s been 37 days with only one sale. For months I got around 10 sales a month with some of them being multiple item purchases. There has not been great or moderate days with GS views other than a few having a nice amount of views.

On a serious note I need to ask since this is so unusual for me. Plus, for the most part, I have been running published coupons.

As far as eBay goes I have had some sales. However, I have been having to sell at a lower price there lately in order to get a sale it seems.

I’ve had a few sales here and there on Etsy. The prices they’ve sold for on there are decent enough.

I have around 30 listings on both eBay and Etsy.

Thanks. I hope you are doing better than me. Hopefully this is just a long dry spell that will run it’s course.

This is a typical slow time of year for sales… I haven’t sold anything on Bonanza since early December… before that it was one sale per month. If Bonanza charged me a monthly fee, I would be gone. I was hoping Bonanza would be a good alternative to Ebay, but so far it hasn’t been. I will stick with them and ride it out. My Ebay sales have slowed, but we are able to still pay the bills…

I would say that this is normal. It is tax season for most people; so I wouldn’t be all to surprised things got a little slow. People are starting to see how much of a better alternative Bonanza is to other marketplaces, that everyone’s booths are fighting for attention more than usual. If anything; I would say it is more effective to work on other means of advertising our booths to get better exposure. Paid ads, social media marketing, etc.

Absolutely TERRIBLE. Nothing since January. I moved a few things from here to the dark side (the auction site) and one went in One minute of listing and another in 2 days. Something is drastically wrong here it seems. These were items I had here for MONTHS with no activity.

Sorry to hear things are slow but glad u we’re able to get a few sales on the internet

Atomicdiner says: April 01, 2019

While I want to sell stuff, would much rather sell it HERE but nobody finds it here. Items out here for months yet it sells in minutes or just a few days on the the dark side. te

EmpressDepot says: April 01, 2019

I’d rather be able to sell it here also.

I have very little in sales here on Bonanza~~maybe 1 every few months. Ebay has been terrible for the last 3 months. Just the other day I decided to change some of my listings on ebay to include the “promoted listings” option for an extra fee. The only 3 sales I’ve made the last few days are the promoted items. You only get charged the promoted fee if the item sells. If it doesn’t sell I don’t get charged the promoted fee. I’m going to change a lot more of my listings~~if they don’t sell it doesn’t cost me anything. I’ll gladly pay extra if it means a sale and more exposure of my listings.

Thanks for sharing. Ive been wondering about the promoted listings. I’m going to give it a try on a few listings

Sold one today but that is the first one in months. I get very few advertising views. Not sure what’s going on.

Let’s hope it turns around soon.

Hi,
Since we started setting up here in January, 0 sales so far (but we can understand as we have a lot of price competition around, being retailers……). Very, very few advertising views, as well. As our selling category appears quite evanescent on Bonanza, we tried a HPL to encourage more views and sales by would-be buyers but it hasn’t helped much as of yet (we’re also in the process of creating a second one, so we shall see what happens with that….). No sales on our Amazon selling account during this month, either (while few, there were sales the other months on that one). It seems like people aren’t interested in spending nor searching any longer………..

It looks like your listing s will be coming into season soon. That’s good. It is interesting that even on Amazon sales are slow. It’s nice to see a new face. Welcome to Bonanza. About HPLs, I started one last spring but never finished it. I guess since spring will be here soon I’ll finally finish it

I don’t think it’s just here. My sales on Etsy are dead, as well. I think that between weather and income tax time, post-Christmas CC bills, etc., there are a lot of things making people hold onto their money.

I realize that every country has different tax deadlines and weather, but I’m in Canada and most sales are to the USA. I find a lot of people are still away on their winter holidays, and our taxes are due April 30th.

I’m glad I don’t get into the X-Mas CC debt stuff. I give cash to 1 person and that’s it~~I haven’t celebtrated X-Mas for years. It’s just a nice relaxing day with a good dinner & NO BILLS. I also don’t have the $$ problems.

EmpressDepot says: March 30, 2019

Bookbin, in the USA we have the same with tax time and post Christmas. The weather has been decent in North Carolina. We did have a lot of rain for a little while. The cold has been gone for a few weeks now. Is it still cold where u r? Come to think of it, I’ve never done to well at tax time..still

EmpressDepot says: March 30, 2019

Slower than usual for me. My husband and I really need some extra money for our offline business right now. I have really been hoping for some extra sales to help out :) I wish it was Christmas time right now.

BookbinEtc says: March 31, 2019

Weather has been great here. We had a very cold late Feb, but it’s been sunny and warm most of March. I don’t do the Christmas spending either, we just have fun and a nice dinner together with whoever is home.

EmpressDepot says: April 01, 2019

I spoke too soon. It was cold here today

No sales here lately. I have been having sales on ebay about 1-2 a day, which is a surprise as it was dead over there.i have had a sale each this month on ecrater, truegether, toucandeal. I just started a couple of weeks ago relisting on etsy. I hadn’t put anything on there for about 6 months. I sold a vintage figure yesterday on etsy.

I just started on truegether and toucan deal last Sept., after I saw several people on a FB ebay group mention them,so I decided to try them out.

Bumblebeasvariety says: March 31, 2019

Everyone on that FB group is talking about Mercuri and how well they do on it.I looked at it, but the way I understand it is Mercuri holds your funds after you sell an item, until the buyer leaves you feedback.

misskeech says: March 31, 2019

Bumble, yes Mercari does hold your fee’s but the way I look at it, its just money in the bank. Most of the members on there are very good about hitting received and giving a rating, then your funds are released. It doesn’t bother me waiting,

Atomicdiner says: April 01, 2019

Toucan is OK but how Ebay is smoother than Bonz, Tocan is even LESS Smooth as Bonz (no calc shipping for instance). Toucan working on that.

EmpressDepot says: April 04, 2019

Okay. So this is weird. My comment about truegether and toucandeal must have gotten deleted since I no longer see it. I guess it was not a good idea for me to say I was going to share the info of these sites on a forum I am a member of with other sellers.

I’ve had 4 sales in the past month on here. Ebay is kinda slow as well. I have been doing Facebook recently, and having some surprising success on there. I find an item and look to see if there’s a FB group for it. If so I join and make a few comments and then post the item for sale. Surprising how often I get a sale by doing that. I hope your sales pick up.

How do u find a Facebook groups on there?

misskeech says: March 31, 2019

Some of the facebook groups are very good. But most of the ones i have been in are for handmade jewelry or vintage jewelry. But there are sales.

EmpressDepot says: April 01, 2019

Cool. I like vintage jewelry.

TnT_Deals says: April 03, 2019

Ok to find a group on FB. Let’s say you find some Pyrex just type in Pyrex on FB there will be numerous groups that collect Pyrex just click on join group and wait to be accepted, I then make a few posts on there, and then show off my Pyrex with a post and picture.

EmpressDepot says: April 03, 2019

Thank you TnT. Do any of groups ever get upset if people like you and I are wanting to promote. Can we literally say the price we have it with a link to our listing?

One sale this month. Extremely slow.

Thanks for sharing.

My last sale here was the 16th of this month, and the one before this sale was in Sept. of 2018, Lol so sales are not good at all here.
…..I dont sell on ebay any longer, haven’t in awile, I used to love ebay, but things have changed dramatically there and they have lost all credibility with me and I refuse to sell there any longer.
…..I do sell on Merari and Poshmark, both really good sites for sales if you can put up with them asking you for a deal and the shipping costs, but at least they are very active sites and very easy to list items on.. The only reason i haven’t sold much there is that i dont have much up for sale there, so i should start thinking about listing more on those sites.

It looks like the gates opened up on ebay~~temporarily anyway. I have 7 to get out in the mail right now. 6 sold since Saturday.

EmpressDepot says: April 01, 2019

I saw a nice advertisement for poshmark on the reelz channel the other day. If I had not already known about poshmark, I definitely would have checked it out based on the TV advertisement

EmpressDepot says: April 01, 2019

Congrats Katt. That is excellent

March wasn’t bad for me, but I find my sales go in [URL removed] 7 sales in a 9-day period, and nothing for the rest of the month… don’t know why that is.

I do also find that if I try to post something new at least every other day, and update my booth to Google every day, that sales go up…

I had to take my computer tower and get it worked on. There did end up being some problems with it but now I realize it really is the monitor that’s went out. I’m going to get one tomorrow so that I can get some new stuff listed. But other than the 10 or so items I have to list, I’m all caught up

EmpressDepot says: April 01, 2019

, which is the scary part.

Atomicdiner says: April 02, 2019

Empress, Monitors can be had for CHEAP at your local Goodwill store. It is hit or miss though on size. Everybody gets rid of their 15 or 17’s cuz they want a huge screen now for a tower unit. I am happy with my 19" CRT Tube monitor still.

EmpressDepot says: April 03, 2019

Hello. I got a monitor this afternoon from the Goodwill. The screen itself is 14.75 but entire monitor is 16.25. It said 19 to 20 inches when I bought it, brought it home and it is the same size as my old one…I figure at least it is not a size down like my ancient monitor was. I had my ancient..

EmpressDepot says: April 03, 2019

(full-size heavy) monitor for 14 years lol.

EmpressDepot says: April 03, 2019

Oops, I meant to say it in order like [URL removed] Ancient monitor for 14 years, one after that a flat screen at 14.75"…and now this one 14.75 , too (both 14.75 used at the Goodwill).

Atomicdiner says: April 19, 2019

I always find OLD TECH stuff at Goodwill. My dig camera is from 1999 and one of my working desktops is from 2000. Newer stuff I dont understand the features.

It’s always been terribly slow on this platform for us. I guess customers don’t shop here for quality handmade ALL-NATURAL soap… or they’re just not seeing us. Sigh… We wish EVERYONE a HUGE turn-around in sales!

Ebay went totally dead again this week for me~~one small sale this whole week. Nothing here (as usual) so I guess I have no choice but to hang in there on ebay.
