Is this site better than etsy?

Before I spend any money for advertising here, I want to know some of your success stories.

Listing on Bonanza is free, then you will pay % of sale when item sells.

You will get a WIDE variety of stories, good and bad, just like anywhere else.

Here’s the recommendation I’ve seen for new sellers … do a booth. Don’t do the webstore until you get established. Advertising level at 9% so your items will go to Google shopping.

I’m sure others with much more experience will jump in to give you more words of wisdom

The annual eCommerce poll says it is. So, how are things at Etsy?

Bonanza has little traffic compared to Etsy. I recently closed my Etsy shop and my other Bonanza booth(both were opened about the same time 7 or 8 years ago) – neither were viable with only the occasional sale in the past 3 years….My current Bonanza booth is still in addition to my main selling venue(the bay) and seems to get the occasional view but nothing more than that. I don’t do social media and the advertising levels here on Bonanza don’t mean much but I’ll keep this booth open for the holiday season and then assess its future come spring of 2018… Unless a seller promotes more on Bonanza than they ever did on Etsy, it will be quite a challenge here. However, just as with any selling venue, there are success stories, there are sellers that do very well. Give it a go with the free booth then Promote…Promote…Promote and see how it goes…

Right now I too am new here. And I’ve done all the things they have asked but have not seen a single sale yet. We joined at the silver level, did the advertising at 9%, have done links on twitter and facebook. The only movement I’ve done here is to delete the items that sold on Etsy. It’s been about a month but getting started here is really hard. Can’t use your feedback from Etsy so I think people are really leary of buying from a new shop. I did the profile thing and added a panel that says we can provide them with customer reviews or provide them a link to read them all. So far……………..nothing, not even a question about an item. Very very discouraging. Glad I kept my Etsy store.

I made two sales in the month or so after I opened here – I was a little surprised, as I had figured I would ‘park’ listings here.

I have a shop on Etsy, and with all their site changes decided to diversify. I sell there modestly but fairly consistently – or did til last October when they pulled the plug on holiday sales with major site changes and glitches.

Most of my sales are through two ePlace accounts; sometimes nothing in one, then sometimes a big sale or two on the other. It’s been a surprisingly good summer there for me; weak but tolerable on Etsy; here, two sales since I started in the spring or summer.

With all the cross-importing, I suspect (have no info, just intuition) that the small sites just hope to be bought by larger ones. Same complaint with Etsy, Bonanza, Addoway – poor search function, confusing check out; lots of glitches and no site advertizing to boost generic traffic by window-shoppers.

I opened my booth when Etsy got so draconian with their store policies. They refused to work with my business corporation.
I like that everything I post on Ebay is automatically added to my Bonanza booth. I have joined on the Silver level and have not really worked at my booth yet I have had one sale so far in ablut 5 monthe but I hope this winter as I get more lising in my booth it will get better 7 as I learn more about how to promote but I will stay with it for a while. Good lucj to you and I would give it a try if I were you.
