My sales on bonanza are horrible. I believe my description and prices are ok. If anyone has any suggestions please recommend. I know I should have a booth, higher percentage on sales, but I can’t afford more than what I am doing. Thanks!

Hi Canchl.
My sales are not so good either. With that said, I did notice some things that could be improved upon.
1. Google organic truncates titles to 70 characters (including spaces). I’d remove the special characters such as the hyphens. Anything beyond the 70 will not be seen in a Google organic search. You could keep the titles longer like you have them or you could truncate down to 70 or less so that the title seen in Google organic (www.google.com) is clearly displayed without being cut off. Google shopping only shows the first 60 of the title.
2. Google shopping does not want the condition of a listing in your title or at the beginning of your description. I’d recommend putting it below your bullets. Also, keep in mind that folks do not always understand the VGUC lingo. Not all people shop on sites that use this lingo for the condition.
3. Google Shopping only shows the first 145-180 characters of your product description so it’s important to put the most important information first. Behind the scenes, Google shopping will catch onto more characters of the description after the 180 characters, but the shopper is not going to see this when they actually are viewing the item in Google shopping….so like said, put the most important information first.
4. Remove the special characters and punctuations such as – # . from your titles. Google shopping only wants a seller to include these special characters in the title if they pertain to the actual item. For example, the game called Whatzit actually includes a question mark as part of the game’s name….whatzit?, so you would be able to include the question mark in this instance. I’d also be careful not to include these special characters in the beginning of your description, too.
5. Some of your photos are blurry.
6. Make sure you are applying your Google shopping attributes. For example, for this listing here I do not see the brand attribute but I do see other attributes such as the size and [URL removed] https://www.bonanza.com/listings/Justice-Simply-Low-Girls-Jeans-Size-10-Slim-Distressed-Straight-leg-cotton-blend/502478813
I’m not seeing this listing coming up in a Google shopping search. If you were unable to have a choice in choosing the brand, there’s a way around that. Just ask :)
When searching for this listing here and after entering quite a few keywords from your title, the listing comes up for ebay rather than Bonanza https://www.bonanza.com/listings/NIB-Lot-of-2-Junior-Swimming-Goggles-Polycarbonate-Lenses-Adjustable-Strap-/[phone number removed]
For this listing here, I had to use quite a few keywords to get the listing to come up and it did end up coming up for your listing on Bonanza. https://www.bonanza.com/listings/Antique-Lot-of-2-Collectible-1847-Rogers-Bros-Dinner-Forks-Silverware-Flatware-/[phone number removed]I had to use these keywords here in order for it to come [URL removed] antique collectible rogers bros dinner forks
This surprises me because the slash is in the title stuck between two words, in which I did not post the full title of your listing.
For this listing here, it did not come up in Google shopping, not sure why https://www.bonanza.com/listings/LE-SUIT-Women-s-Lined-Jacket-Skirt-Suit-Size-M-Polyester-blend-color-pink-/501422718
I think your prices are very reasonable. With some hard effort, I think you’ve got the talent to create really good descriptions and titles.

in addition to EmpressDepot
Go to
Selling Dashboard
Reports
Feed Diagnostics
Click on te US Account ID will show which of your items are in Google Shopping
Click on Start a feed status review
Your feed is up to date You have no pending status reviews. to see which of your items are being possibly rejected…
If there are issues with titles, boiler plate (ie condition in titles, symbols) then items are probably being rejected..
Bonz also runs the review and google gives a sample list if you scroll a bit down…

Are you using advertising. I do the 9% which is only charged if the item sells through an advertising click. One suggestion is getting rid of the gobbly gook about paypay, non payers etc. Items basically are buy it now or offers so that doesn’t apply and can only discourage buyers.

Biggest thing to remember here is you have to do quite a bit of your own advertising, use as much social media as you can to drive traffic to your booth. I myself put up at least 1-2 new items a day to keep it fresh fro new customers & potential customers. Maybe do a promotion to bring attention as well. Holidays are coming so it will begin to pick up again as the summer months are slow on all selling fronts. Do not get frustrated and good luck!

You have to advertise yourself. Promote your booth on facebook, twitter, pinterest, etc.
If you don’t want to do it yourself, there are several sellers on here that for a small fee will promote for you.
Here are a few that sell [URL removed]
customseatcreations, JDsgiftshack and promotions, mystic creations, mytexastreasures. i have used all of them before and i have gotten sales from their promoting me.

Winter is around the corner and I’m seeing T-Shirts and Shorts. Get ready to promote Sweaters, Jackets and Coats.
How about putting items together like a shirt, jacket and cap. I didn’t mention pants due to sizes and lengths. In a combo, less sells, but more money.

- Use links to other sources to support your opinions

- Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?
Should I post a comment or an answer?
