This is about something I ordered here in very early June.
7/5 shipment info sent to FEDEX
7/7 item left Los Angeles Ca.
7/8 Arrived in WMS AZ
7/8 Went back to California – Los Angeles
7/9 Mooreland OK
7/10 Burr Ridge KS
7/11 Elkhart IN
7/12 Hempfield TWP PA
My asparagus steamer is certainly taking the scenic route! It has not arrived here in New York State, though.
I wonder if most sellers have any comprehension whatsoever of the circuitous travel their items use to get to their destination!

Based on that tracking, it was not sent out until 7/5, so that would be the seller. It has only been in Fedex’s possession for a week, and if it was shipped smartpost/ground, etc, it is not uncommon for it to take that long. My question would be why a seller sent something out a month after the order.

I have had lots packages sent through USPS that have taken the scenic route around the country before they get to me,or that I have sent to customers.
A few weeks ago I ordered an item that was only a couple hundred miles from me. It went to Salt Lake city,Ut, Memphis Tenn.,Palm Beach Fl.,Denver,Co.back to Salt Lake City, then finally to the sorting center in Boise,Idaho, where it was sent to me.

I watch the tracking on all the packages I send out and I too have seen how the PO sends items in the wrong direction. I have had packages go across country and arrive in 2 days and others that go to the next suburb (10 miles away) that take 7-10 days. Those I could have driven to their destination but must prove it was officially delivered for Paypal so no dice on custom personal delivery.
The lost in the cornfields story was funny. My aunt and uncle lived in Twilight Zone Arkansas and her post office was only open for 1 hour on Fridays due to fishin season.

Here in Lost-In-The-Cornfields, Indiana, if we send a card to our neighbor through our little “Post Office” (open 1-3pm) it goes directly to a city ten miles north, gets sorted, goes to a city 85 miles south, gets sorted, goes back to Lost-In-The-Cornfields, gets sorted and put in the neighbors box…all in three days. Much faster to just talk to them in the lobby of the post office as you are mailing their card.
