Thanks google..again and again and again

Time for more Google Holiday Cheer for sellers going into season. No surprise here just not sure how much longer to try to endure. Any tips from the Bonz to help us prepare for total ruination of yet another holiday sales season.

Not that it is a selling site, but did anyone notice that the above link takes you to an unsecured webpage. Oh the irony. ;)

That is funny loves birds. Maybe this means most people will not even pay attention. I did not see the not secure display next to the URL….and I went to the link several times.

This is an official Bonanza response.

Thanks for sharing that link Gearseller2!

This is definitely a concern for all internet sellers. We’re aware of this situation and we’re doing our best to take the necessary steps to help resolve this situation here at Bonanza. Pages with important information have always been HTTPS and we’re doing our best to get all pages on Bonanza to become HTTPS.

The images embedded within a listing template must be changed by the seller at their hosting service from http to https. How that is done depends on the hosting service. Some will require the images literally be moved to a different folder and others just have an SSL to turn on.

If you run into any troubles with this situation this fall, please feel free to email us and we’ll work with you on getting everything updated :)

Thank you. It sounds like I need to change all of my links to https then. I no longer have images within my listings. This should satisfy Google Chrome from giving the “not secure” display then, right?

Thanks bonanzajon- always an adventure!

Good question on whether the security warning will come up on Bonanza and whether it will come up when viewing, for example, a listing of mine that has a link where the protocol for the link is http

I emailed into Bonanza pointing them to this thread along with the article.

Thanks for posting gearseller.

Sharon

Based on what bonanzajon said, it sounds like I will be able to change my links within my listing to https and it should be fine. I do not have any images within my listings. I cannot add anymore to what bonanzajon said.

Earlier when I heard back from Judy via email, I replied asking her about changing my links to satisfy Google. I’m sure I will hear back soon and will definitely post about this here.
