Send a message to the buyer that the item has already been shipped. Tell them that once it arrives refuse delivery and return it unopened (Return to Sender).

Advise the buyer, that once the item has been returned you will refund. Since the item has already been mailed, you really cannot cancel the order.

You can also try to go to your post office with the tracking and see if you can intercept the package, but usually that only works on the same day…but you can try.

If the seller returns the item, you may want to consider NOT refunding any postal charges that you incurred to ship the item. If so, send them an email PRIOR to granting a refund. Explain your reason while asking for a reply acknowledging that the refund does not include your original shipping charges.

After all, YOU should not be penalized for speedy service and certainly shouldn’t incur any costs due a customer error. Of course, if the shipping is a small amount, you should consider “goodwill” that might bring the buyer back to you for a future transaction. Remember, that a happy buyer tells one or two people while an unhappy buyer tells 10 to 20 people.

Whatever your decision, DON’T refund anything until you get the item(s) returned to you in new, unopened condition.

Yes, at this point nothing much else you can do., I do believe bonanza sends the customer an email to let them know its been shipped if you entered the tracking #, so don’t do anything till you get the item back. Just tell them what ccmom above said to tell them….and wait.

When (and if) it is returned, verify what is in the package is what you sent the “buyer”. People have been known to switch out something or “upgrade” what they already have by using the very technique you have described. I have had it happen on coins, etc. Rare, but it happens. Only takes a moment to verify you got back what you sent. Hope things work out for you.
