Do all related items appear in bonanza search results?

When we look for some specific items on different sites, in search results usually we find first some adds, sponsored listings and then the rest of the related items, ALL of them, no matter how many pages have to appear.

I don’t know, if the results I’ve got here are only in my category – would You be kind enough to check it?

Searching for original landscape paintings from Europe (using search options on the left side of the home page) I’ve found 28 items from Artists and 59 ‘Art from Dealers & Resellers’.

I know that only in my shop there are more than 50, I don’t know, how many items are in other booths, but it seems that maybe some more items are not showing in this particular [URL removed]

Adding “original landscape paintings Europe” straight to the main search box and narrowing it to “new”, there is 59 results. And after choosing also “Search descriptions” – 100 items.

Search here leaves MUCH to desire.

The boxes that you are using on the sides to narrow search are not for “search terms”..they are the “Item Traits”…if the traits are not filled out for all the items, then they will not show for that trait

so if the [URL removed] Landscape, Original and Europe were not filled out for all of the paintings in question (since you chose all three), then they will not show up in the results using the boxes in the left column…

And that is why filling out the items traits is necessary

PS some of yours say Europa and not Europe
and since you do not have Landscape as your subject in many cases, it cannot find your Landscape(s) using the trait search option

sorry spelled column wrong…

[URL removed] Please not that in the example used…the item trait is not Landscape, but your own description of the subject matter. It is looking for the item [URL removed] Landscape, not a description with the word landscape in it…

Item traits are sorted, by selection not search by words in the selections…hope that makes sense…

1. So the main search box and the side ones are searching differently for the same words?

“…they will not show up in the results using the boxes in the left column…”

I’m confused now, because I’ve seen rather opposite [URL removed]
[URL removed]

there are 3 paintings, which I added earlier without subjects – now I know, how to do it, so I have to check them one by one – thank You for reminding this (but maybe then they will disapper from this side search? now only these 3 are in both searches).

And in the main search box results there are more of my listings with these words in [URL removed]
[URL removed]

2. I’m not sure, how You write EU in US, I used to write Europe in most of the subjects, but in the “Region of origin” box there is automatically added Europa.

EDIT (Aug 30, 2015)

""The main search box searches for the words, usually in title, the boxes [left hand columns] refine the search by looking for traits related to the search…"
“truthfully, I do not understand what you are asking, to me it is very simple…”

Please, try to understand.
There are 2 [URL removed] or Your info about left hand column boxes is no longer valid (e.g. B. started to use there some other data), or B. system doesn’t show there all the items.

Check, please, the example You’ve used in Your second [URL removed]
if subjects are part of traits and they should appear in the left boxes searches, why then this listing was not in this particular search? Also many other listings, which have chosen words in their traits, were not there.

The main search box searches for the words, usually in title, the boxes refine the search by looking for traits related to the search….simply put you search for “shirt” then the item traits give you a blue long sleeve shirt..that is if the traits were entered…

ccmom says: August 29, 2015

or you can just search for blue long sleeve shirt…however, all those words need to be in the title

ccmom says: August 29, 2015

truthfully, I do not understand what you are asking, to me it is very simple…I search for something and then I try to narrow down what I am looking for…If I searched for landscape original painting, why would I narrow the search with the same words….

Dear ccmom, I’ve edited the previous post to add the answer, since it’s difficult to do here in comments. I always value very much your help. I know we both write on forum with a good will, just to help improve this site. And I’m glad that B. always tries to make things better, if it’s needed.

ccmom says: August 30, 2015

Question…>>> why then this listing was not in this particular search<<< Which Listing???….

ccmom says: August 30, 2015

If you are referring to the one I used in the example..it does not show after check marking Landscape under Subject, because you used your own description as the item trait, not [[item_[URL removed]

ccmom says: August 30, 2015

ps..sorry if sounded short…my son was battering me with loads of questions when I was trying to type answers

ArtistsUnion says: August 30, 2015

So, I should use only one word in subjects, to have listings in the both searches?

ccmom says: August 30, 2015

It will only sort, (the boxes in the left column are a sort, not a search…and I should have used that word in explaning earlier) using the actual words that are in the drop down list…you can suggest others if you like by using the suggest Item trait for any category

Wearing my other ID let’s try something a bit simpler

The upper right Search box

You put in the item (terms phrases or words) to search

Once you have your search results, you can narrow down the results using the Category selections in the left column

Then the results can be sorted according to the item traits for that particular category (using selections from the left hand column)…so if the item traits for a listing has not been filled out it will get cut from sort

Great signature, [URL removed] My items’ traits are filled, but I’ve also added there more words, I didn’t realize that this way it won’t be ‘read’ at all in sort…
