I tend to list something on eBay [URL removed]
I have something that is not in abundance on the internet, the sold price history on eBay shows well for that item along with making sure the price point I can put the item for will not cause the item to sit there. I look for a great turnaround time on products I sell on eBay.
Using this scenario, whether it be every so often that I put something on eBay or sometimes a little more often, what I do put on eBay sells fairly quickly. eBay has always been good to me this way.
What I’m looking to do is to have my booth on Bonanza as the mother ship. I want to get all of my listings up in one place. I do not want everything scattered around on the internet for sale until they are all in one place. So, after everything is here, I’ll then periodically list things elsewhere (putting the listing on reserve here on Bonanza) and see if the item is better suited for a site like, say, Poshmark or Etsy or eBay. Ultimately hoping the item will first sell on Bonanza though.
I did play around with an item last week. I put it in auction on eBay (rarely do this because I do not like auctions). It did not sell. Listed it over here on Bonanza and a few days later it sold.
If I find myself in a crunch for money and even if I do not have all my stuff up here on Bonanza, then I’ll have to list periodically on eBay like I said further above.

I sell on FB Marketplace. I see someone saying they get a lot of questions from people who claim they will buy but never follow through.
I think it might depend on the particular TYPE of item being sold.
I have a friend who sells computers. SHe gets a lot of those phony-baloney messages. People will ask like 5 questions and then not follow through.
On the other hand, I don’t sell anything like smartphones or computers. I rarely ever get any questions, much less laundry lists of them.
I sell mostly used/vintage items. Jewelry, flower bulbs, clothing.
I also have not had any issue with using PayPal. I have them go to the PayPal site and pay me that way, using my e-mail address. I’m not keen on using the ‘send money’ thing on Facebook.
I had no idea that one could boost something on FB. I see this mentioned in the previous comments. I wouldn’t do that for any of my items. I don’t have anything worth much $$$ to make that option pfrofitable to me.
I get much better sales on FB than any other site I use.
I also sell on Vinted. I don’t have much success on that one. But it’s fun. People can ‘swap’ items on there as well as sell. That option helps if one is short on funds. I have fun on that site.
I sell for charity on E-Bay. E-Bay’s dead, IMO. At least, I think it’s dead for the type of stuff I sell. I think electronics will do well on there. Maybe even NEW stuff. BUT I know a lot of people who have become disillusioned with E-Bay. But E-Bay gives 50 FREE listings per month. That a great advantage. Basically a ‘no brainer’.
I use to sell on Etsy. Total waste of time & money. There is no FREE listings on Etsy. I believe it’s 20¢ per listing. That adds up considering less than 10% of one’s items will sell in a month.
I use Craigslist (had decent success there). And a local classifieds run by a local radio station (again, done OK there. Nothing great.)
I’ve sold only two items on Bonanza. Not disappointed though.
WHY? When I first started online sales (I started my online sales using E-Bay, then moved into Etsy too), I expected to make a LOT of $$ by having a high sales quotient. BOY, did I get disappointed.
It later dawned on me that there was a whole Hades a lot of online competition. Not only are there numerous sales platforms, but also thousands of sellers on each platform.
By the time I started Bonanza and Vinted, I had become realistics about online sales. By the time I started here, I knew I wouldn’t sell much due to al the competition.
So any sale is great. No sales is the norm.
I forgo the prospect of sales by engaging in the fun stuff these platforms have to offer. For Vinted, it’s searching for items to swap. For Bonanza, it’s the Forums and the HPLs I get to create.
I try to find my joy in other things this online experience has to offer. Any sale is gravy.
