Is this a military insignia or is it not?

I have a wool dark green military? beret that has this insignia on front. The red is plastic and the metal, I believe to be bronze is of medium thickness. Design is stamped into metal. Can anyone tell me if this is a military insignia, American or foreign? Thanks in advance.

The picture is a bit blurry, can’t make out any of what might be writing on it. Sorry.

[URL removed] Thx for the new pic. I’m no expert but that looks like it might be Hebrew writing. You could try a Google for Hebrew pin and see what you get.

EDIT #2: Check out this web site, on fast glance I see several that are similar so it’s Israeli of some sort. [URL removed]

Thanks to ccmom’s I was able to come up with the correct name. It is a beret of the Israeli military. The color and insignia was for the Golani Brigade, an infantry brigade formed on Feb. 28, 1948.
