Site name change to bmarketplace?

This is really getting tiresome. Making changes to things that won’t help the site at all while ignoring the actual site problems. As my dad used to say, you can only put so much lipstick on a pig because it’s still a pig.

My comment on the blog post which probably won’t be [URL removed]
Horrible decision. bMarketplace is generic. Bonanza is unique. The only reason I can see to change the name is that “Bonanza” has gained a big reputation with fraudulent sellers.
The site has errors constantly with images, SSL, and DNS name servers. There are still references all over the site to “Pay nothing til you sell” and “Zero fees to list” even though that has changed. Traffic is awful because the site’s trust rating has plummeted. There are sellers with tens of thousands of items who haven’t signed in for months. This is what to address before making a name change IMO.
Makes sense about the DNS/SSL issues I wrote about 2 days ago.

I agree 100% with you. Since Bonanza changed hands, my sales went to zero.

GravityVideo says: May 14, 2025

I wasn’t at zero, but I went from about 100 orders a month to less than 10 and just moved them all to eBay. Now that I am changing directions in my business I wanted to rebuild here but this is just one ridiculous change after the other for 2 months.

it’s Bonanza, oh, my bad.. it’s Bonanza Worldwide.. wait i mean bMarketplace.co. – dang it.. duh.. it’s Aliexpress.c………

Sad. Just sad.

Sad. Just sad. All that lipstick. From the dollar store. I thought of that same phrase when I read “the announcement.”

GravityVideo says: May 14, 2025

Fortress_Lemonade the site is now littered with sellers who dropship from aliexpress now too… I can go to nearly any category on the site and find a seller who does in less than a minute. The site is more or less identical to every other one and nothing unique.

Exactly this! Instead of fixing what’s broken, getting rid of the overseas sellers, driiving more traffic, they waste their time on this? With all of us puling things due to fees, all that will be left is aliexpress junk, and the little pop up ads on the pages make it look super scammy.

Here was my post on the blog, not sure if it will make it but you never know.

“I like the idea of being, as in “b”, everything we can be. Can you please share some info here on how you will help with increasing traffic via Google shopping. When Bill was here the traffic via Google shopping did well. However, it died down low after he left. Is this just a transition thing where you are going to be re-vamping up Google shopping or is this how it will be from now on…with a decrease in the traffic after Bill left. Google shopping has always been our biggest contributor in sales.”

So far no posts but Awesome have made it on the blog. Sadly, ignoring the less than positive comments is not going to help the situationi

The only post on the blog that has been approved is from a user with zero feedback and nothing in their booth. How telling is that?

ToysofAnotherTime says: May 17, 2025

My post on the blog asking Mr. Faison to please listen to his sellers’ concerns hasn’t made the cut yet either.

EmpressDepot says: May 18, 2025

I believe the one and only post that has been approved is an employee of Bonanza as I had an employee named Keith who answered an email I had sent in. I could be wrong. I would love to see our posts being made public and responded to.

While not a great name, I think anything is better than “Bonanza” because that is just not a place I want to shop. Or really even understand what is if I was a random shopper.

However B MarketPlace is still long, not catchy, what even is B?
To me Market Place also sounds like bring me all your random scammers and illegal people. Like a flea market.

And where did my Google traffic go now that I am paying MORE than I was before?

simply wow… your view of people who sell at flea markets is fascinating

GravityVideo says: May 17, 2025

I sold at flea markets for years. I have seen people selling brand new merch, used merch, using it as a garage sale, handmade stuff, homemade foods, lots of stuff. I liked the name Bonanzle in the beginning because it was unique, but Bonanza was memorable

GravityVideo says: May 17, 2025

. Bmarketplace sounds like just a plain old overpopulated dropshipper farm to me. Not judging those who dropship, but the ones on the site are not getting the best products and prices. Oh well.

While I’m not crazy about the name they picked, the name Bonanza no longer cuts it as a online marketplace selling site. Unfortunately, when I see bMarketplace I wonder if it will give the impression we’re only a “B” site, definitely not an “A”. And not even a capital “B” at that—just a lower-case selling site. Obviously, the name change is to capitalize on Facebook Marketplace. No complaints about that.

I agree, My first thought when I saw this was bMarketplace for second rate, second place, b rated. Not a good first impression.

I didn’t even get an announcement. I dropped from 8500 listings to 50, so of course, no sales, but I would still like to get the announcements. The problem I had with Bonanza is that when googling Bonanza, I always got the old tv show as the first few hits.
