For Mother’s Day back in 2001, my kids, via my husband, planted a little gem magnolia near our home we moved into earlier in that year. Before I moved to the South, I don’t believe I have ever seen the full glory of a magnolia tree. The aroma, the leaves, the excitement of when the tree is loaded with big, fat bulbs and then seeing the magnolia flower all the way out. What a dream! Our little gem has grown beautifully and we relish in it’s magnificence every day. This beautifully soft colored wreath is made with one fabric. It’s a Michael Miller fabric loaded with magnolia buds and leaves. The background is an unusual color...it’s a light grayish blue. It is so gentle on the eye! How perfect to have a fabric wreath of magnolias that you don’t have to worry about crushing the petals! The ribbons are white, cream, the bluish gray, sage green and taupe. The ribbons vary in widths and textures from 3/8” to 5/8” and satins to linen to grosgrain to jute! This design is very feminine and lovely. It can also be doubled as a centerpiece! Just add a glass hurricane and fill with magnolia branches or glass beads with a candle set in it. Even using a white pitcher or vase in the center of the flat laying wreath would be a stunning option. But hanging your wreath on your front door, or on your office wall or door, or in your shabby chic bedroom, or even a dorm wall, would be precious.
