Descripción del Artículo

Brighty of the Grand Canyon by Marguerite Henry (1967 Scholastic PB 1st Thus) Author: Marguerite Henry Illustrator: Wesley Dennis Publisher: Scholastic Book Services, New York, NY U.S.A. 1967 Brighty, the wild burro, is trapped by an escaping murderer. With a cruel whip, the man forces Brighty to lead him up the dangerous trail. "If I can get across the state line, I'll be safe, " thinks the murderer. But Brighty is as stubborn as a burro can be. And more than anything, he's determined to be free again. This is based on a true story about the adventures of a special donkey who lived in the Grand Canyon during the time of the building of the first bridge. The story has very real-life qualities. Paperback cover is whole and shows no wear except for an extreme rub mark (almost as if a file were used) along the spine in front cover. No reading crease in spine. Interior is tight, clean and unmarked. Size: 12mo - over 6 - 7" tall. 224 pp. Condition: Very Good Paperback Copyright 1953. Originally published through Rand McNally Company. This copy is from 1st printing...November, 1967 of the paperback Scholastic Edition. This makes this copy 1st Thus and of interest to collectors. No ISBN nor LCCN. Scholastic catalog TX 1147. MSR = $0.50. Notes on Condition/Edition ratings: Fine – means like new, but any book produced over 10 years ago isn't “brand new”. Booksellers needed some word to describe this... Very Good – How you or I might take care of a book, closer to “as new” than standard. Good – How someone else might take care of a book. Also referred to as “standard.” The most likely condition for books of this age, shows the book has been read or previously owned. Acceptable – How a child, student or a librarian might take care of a book. (Either trying to make sure someone doesn't steal it by plastering ownership everywhere, filled it with copious notes or a book that has been damaged.) Poor – Combination of “acceptable” factors above. Most likely with water damage as well. Might have missing pages (you should ask). Near – Means “almost” in an optimistic sense. e.g., “Near Fine” means very good, but on the high end. 1st Thus – Unique somehow, maybe 1st paperback, new illustrator, misprint or even the 1st edition. A collector might desire this copy. Thanks for looking!
