In handcrafting this 18 inch necklace I selected carnelian lantern beads, a carnelian wave bead as a center drop and sterling silver findings including a toggle clasp and 3 mm faceted beads. The carnelian beads are about 8 x 12 x 12 mm and get their name due to their likeness to far eastern strung lanterns. The natural carnelian lantern beads show the various shades found in carnelian. The center drop is 1 5/8" by 1 " with the carnelian wave bead being 1 1/8" by 1". The carnelian beads vary in color from nearly colorless to nearly brown.
