The Wagner Handwork Company (Rodental, Germany) produced top-quality toys and figurines for Christmas nativity and village scenes (known as "putz" scenes). They operated from the 1940s until they closed in 1998. Each animal was made by hand from a paper and clay based composition blank, then "flocked" with cotton fibers.
