I had inquired at several shoe stores about how I could clean white leather athletic shoes. None of them carried a cleaning product, and I received varying responses ranging from "they can't be cleaned" to "wash with a wet cloth" to "put them in the washing machine." I bought this Kiwi whitener from amazon, and it works great. It is easy to use (just rub the little sponge on the end all over the shoes). It gives a cleaner, fresher appearance without that awful intense white that white shoe polish can cause, and it does not rub off on other clothing. It does not remove every spot, but I liked the result even on shoes that were quite old and abused. The sponge tip should be rinsed off under running water after use, then put the clear cap back on after drying.
