It is commonly used for alleviation of unproductive and irritative coughs in adults and children over 2 years, particularly when coughing occurs at night. Rhinathiol Syrup works by reducing the viscosity of sputum; blocking histamines or nitrogenous compounds. Dosage / Direction for Use: Adults: 3 to 4 spoons (15 ml to 20 ml) three times a day. Children: 2-5 years of age oe to 1 spoon (2.5 ml to 5 ml) four times a day. 6-12 years of age 1oe to 2oe spoons (7.5 ml to 12.5 ml) three times a day. 12 -15 years of age 2oe to 3 spoons (12.5 ml to 15 ml) three times a day. Note: If an infant develops a cough, consult the doctor. Treatment must be short (a few days) and only at times when coughing occurs. If a dose is missed, go back to the regular dosing schedule.
