This thing is so unique. Vintage 80s Chez California designed by Tandy black drop waist formal dress that is so drop waist its almost mermaid style. Shift style before gathering at the knee into a super stretchy 8 inch panel of black sequins punctuated with rhinestones and a rhinestone bar/almost looks like a pin, but it?s sewn on, before falling to a full and voluminous ruffle. The hem is Swiss dot mesh in several tiers that are also punctuated with rhinestones. Round neck and long sleeves. Both are decorated with black sequins. Some of the sequins are missing around the neck, see photos. The cuffs are punctuated with sporadic rhinestones as well. Shoulder pads. No size tag no fabric content tag. The fabric appears to be polyester chiffon and it is featured on my size medium dress form for scale. Laying flat measures 26 inches armpit to armpit 23.5 inches across the waist, 24 inches across the hip and 56 inches shoulder to hem. The relaxed shift style torso measures 33 inches from the shoulder, then the 8 inch sequin panel and then 15 inches of structured mesh ruffle. Although this isn?t strictly maternity, it would do a great job of hiding a moderate baby bump. This would also make a great basis for a costume, like Ursula from the little mermaid. It?s so unique it could go a lot of different ways. Based on the measurements, I estimate this to be approximately a modern 1X but please double check to ensure the proper fit for you
