"NOS" or New Old Surplus patch meaning it was never used. About 3 1/2" tall, embroidered with gold thread on a black felt background. A couple of the embroidery threads are loose at the bottom. Not a very common patch, as you know Germany did not have a lot happening on the high seas , they did though have a lot of rivers to guard while they used them for transport.
