The second layer is a fully seam-sealed inner lining with a 20,000/30,000mm Tetratex by DuPont waterproof/breathable membrane. The layer of air between the two layers allows the Tetratex membrane to run at a higher operating temperature than other garments that have the waterproof membrane laminated to the outer shell. The result is highly increased breathability and reduced condensation and frosting on the inside of the jacket, similar to the function of a dual pane window. Tetratex Two Stage Dry Technology incorporates the Dry Vent System which features waterproof vent zippers backed with Dry Vent Mesh to keep snow and moisture from entering when the vent zippers are open.
