They were launched in 1919 and by 1978 when they ceased publication nearly 500,000,000 had been sold. It began life as a book club, sold by subscription to a subscriber list to a defunct socialist newspaper, which Julius purchased for the venture. These are sold as reading copies: Expect all flaws.
