Comments......... Portrait of head of failed MMM bank on left front (Sergei Mavrodi). Type 2 note. There are two known 1 Biletov notes of the type 2 set, one with blue portrait, one with grey portrait. Security features on note included: heavy intaglio border, micro-printing, fluorescent fibers, and watermarked paper.
This entrepreneur promised huge profits - and delivered - for a while! MMM was a Russian company that perpetrated one of the world's largest Ponzi schemes of all time, in the 1990s. By different estimates from 5 to 40 million people lost up to $ 10 billion. See my other notes from this country
