This little ball like thing allows you to plug in a strig of lights, and with every sound comes the flash of the lights, hence SOUND FLASH. Simply plug SoundFlash into any 120 volt outlet, then plug your Christmas lights into the SoundFlash (one outlet). Your Christmas will glow brighter than ever before. Your lights will sparkle and twinkle at the sound of noise, voices, etc. So sensitive to the slights sound causes them to flash. Dial designates the sensitivity I believe. Pretty cool for someone who wants a flashy tree setup! It doesn't have to be used for Christmas, could be used all year around where sting lights are used.
