As early as the late 1920's they were publishing and distributing materials in Germany to alert the people about good vs evil relative to the rising 3rd Reich. They were incarcerated like the Jews (and others) in concentration camps. Being conscientious objectors they were offered freedom for signing a NAZI pledge but didn't.
