TWO SEPARATE WOODEN CARVINGS AFFIXED TO 2 BOARDS GRANDMA GRANDPA The grandma image has metal as part of the relief for the long tool holding the fish, and for the eyeglasses. These appear to be handmade and fixed to the blocks of wood, which then have copper hanging hooks affixed on the back. The grandma weight about 3 pounds 10 ounces, and the grandpa weighs about 3 pounds and 8 ounces. Each piece, in its entirety measures about 19 x 12 inches. The carved figures themselves, are about 13 x 5 inches. I do not know how the carvings are affixed to the planks, but they are very firmly attached with no give or wiggle at all. While I do not know the age of manufacture. I assume that these are at least 60 years old from the items they were found with. It says AUCTION SALE on the paper held by the male (grandpa) figure. I wish I knew the history of these pieces because I suspect there is an interesting story here. My ignorance on these types of collectible could certainly be your gain.
