The LEOPARD was one of the animals on Anne Boleyn's Coat of Arms. After Anne's demise King Henry VIII had the statues honoring her repurposed to erase her memory and honor Jane Seymour. The Boleyn Leopard was modified to become the Seymour Panther - however the Leopards spots remain.
