Espumisan L is a medicine against bloating and a feeling of heaviness in the abdomen. The increased formation and accumulation of gases in the stomach and intestines in the form of small bubble foam leads to unpleasant complaints, such as swelling and a feeling of heaviness in the abdomen. Espumisan L reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles and breaks down the finely bubble foam. The gases released in this way can be absorbed from the intestinal wall and released naturally. Espumisan L is used for all diseases accompanied by increased formation and accumulation of gases in the gastrointestinal tract (flatulence), in colic in the infant, in case of excessive ingestion of air, as well as in the intake of certain foods and beverages leading to increased gas formation (beans, lentils, cabbage, carbonated drinks), in heart complaints, as a result of moving the diaphragm upwards due to the accumulation of gases in the gastrointestinal tract, in preparation of the abdominal cavity for imaging (X-ray, ultrasound, etc.) and as an additive to contrast matter in double-contrast radiography. It acts in a purely physical way, does not change chemical reactions and is pharmacologically and physiologically inactive, does not interact with microorganisms and enzymes. Espumisan L does not affect digestion and does not change the acidity in the stomach. It is not absorbed and is excreted unchanged. Sugar-free and suitable for diabetics.
