Descripción del Artículo
Text on Stein:
?I'm Wald und auf der Heide,
da such ich Meine Freude.?
Text in English:
(In the forest and the meadow,
there I seek my pleasure)
Text from a poem (?I'm Wald und auf der Heide?) written by Wilhelm Bornemann in 1816 and set to music in 1827 by F. L. Gehrike.
Albert Jac. Thewalt GmbH began producing beer steins circa 1897, and by the start of World War I in 1914 had cataloged some 819 different models. Production came to a halt at that point and wouldn?t be resumed again until after World War II when, under the guiding hand of Albert Jakob Thewalt, grandson of the founder, the company again entered the beer stein market, making well over 400 new models before permanently ceasing operations in 2009.
-I believe this stein could be from the 40's early 50s. The markings on the bottom are known to be Thewalt family marks. Title of the stein is "after the hunt". There is a hole on top of handle that once help brace a lid.
Dimensions: H: 63/4" X W: 5" (Includes handle)
