It is also used for nipple care during breastfeeding and to prevent chafing in infants. Alantan Plus ointment soothes inflammation, burns, abrasions and skin wounds. Indications prevention of nappy rash in infants, treatment of various types of wounds, such as abrasions, small cuts and skin cracks, treatment of sunburn and burns after radiotherapy and phototherapy, care for irritated and dry skin, hyperkeratosis of the skin of the hands and feet, supportive in atopic dermatitis, allergic eczema, rhinitis and leg ulcers. Contraindications Do not use the drug: if you are allergic to allantoin, dexpanthenol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine, for eyes, for acute skin inflammation with exudation. Use Diseased areas should be lubricated, unless the doctor orders otherwise, usually once or several times a day. Baby care: Use on places prone to chafing (after each diaper change. Before applying the ointment, wash and dry the skin. If there is no improvement or the patient feels worse, contact a doctor. Side effects Like all medicines, Alantan Plus can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Hypersensitivity reactions, skin irritation may occur. Storage Keep the drug out of the sight and reach of children. Store below 25 C in the original package. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the package. Ingredients The active substances are: Allantoin and Dexpanthenol. 1 g of ointment contains 20 mg of Allantoin and 50 mg of dexpanthenol (50% panthenol solution in propylene glycol). The other ingredients are: Lanolin, Liquid paraffin, White petroleum jelly, Ethyl parahydroxybenzoate, Purified water.
