Descripción del Artículo

Here's a nice example of an Antebellum-era bottle. I believe it is a Soda Bottle but could be a Mineral Water Bottle or Beer Bottle. It was probably produced to hold any variety of liquids (up to 8 fluid ounces). Embossed, in all upper case, the words read: "FRANCIS.DUSCHE" in ~ 7/8" hollow/block lettering over "THIS BOTTLE IS NEVER SOLD" in 3/8 solid lettering. History: Francis Dusch began producing bottles from his company in the 1850's on Broad Street in Richmond, Virginia. This bottle was likely one of the earlier bottles produced there under his ownership. It has a tapered top with an uneven, drippy edge. This glass bottle is medium-blue in color, and apparently was dug up from the ground. It still has some dirt, as well as a relatively small area of iridescence on its inside, while its exterior bears nicks, scratches, abrasions, etc. There are several air bubbles trapped within the glass. Prior to bidding, please carefully view all photographs for best representation of item's condition. With the exception of a good cleaning, I think this special bottle is ready to go into someone's collection. Its approximate dimensions are 7-3/4" (Height) x 2-1/2" (Diameter - Base) x 1" to 1-1/4" (Diameter - Flared Top), and its weight is 13.6 ounces. Here is a rare opportunity to acquire a hard-to-find bottle.
