Antique Vintage WHITING DAVIS Hand-Painted Enamel Mesh Purse in Beadlite style with Van Dyke fringe. Beadlite was a style of mesh made to resemble beads whereby each tiny little metal tile is stamped with a raised "bead" center which gives the purse much more dimension and beauty. This purse features an abstract Art Deco design and is topped with a stunning openwork frame with flowers, vines, and leaves. Both sides are identical. Overall this purse is in excellent condition with virtually no discernible enamel loss at all. The interior of the purse is lined in a pale pink silk with very fancy trim and two pockets and is in great shape with no tears. The frame opens and closes securely and the mesh is attached firmly to the frame with the exception of one on each corner of the inside hinge but this is not visible at all, even from the inside or outside edges. It bears the Whiting Davis hang tag under the lining attached to the frame. This purse is larger than the typical Whiting Davis mesh purse and measures 4-5/8" wide x 7-3/4" long from clasp to bottom of Van Dyke style fringe.
