This is an antique wood and horsehair Brush with a beautiful wood base and fine bristles. The brush is unbranded and appears to have been handcarved. The bristles are soft but firm I have seen similarly styled brushes that are identified as being Hairbrushes, shoe shine buffers, lint or clothes brushes, and even horse brushes. This brush belonged to my grandparents and has been in our possession for at least 50 years. Best guess, I would date the brush to the Depression era, 1920s to 1930s. The antique brush is in good shape for its age although there are a few scattered paint droplets on the top. (see photos). The antique brush measures about 7.25" x 2.5" x 1.75".
